Fox hunting opponents celebrate as one of Scotland’s oldest hunts folds for good

  1. Fox hunting is in absolute free fall right now. They have been hunting illegally since 2004 and trail hunting is a complete lie (as the head of the BHSA was accidentally caught saying in a Zoom meeting). With todays technology there is simply no where left for them to hide. Sadly they dug out a fox from a badgers set just down the road from me.

The hounds also get treated like sh*t and get a bullet in the head when they can no longer hunt. Plenty of footage online.

  2. Excellent. I don’t revel in the misfortune of others. But seeing people robbed of their ability to bully and murder small animals puts a smile on my face.

  3. Brilliant news. A few of the English hunts have folded recently too. Hopefully the tide is starting to turn.

  4. Canadian here – can someone fill me in on this with an eli5? What is the issue with fox hunts? I’m assuming it’s probably because foxes are endangered and it’s mostly aristocracy hunting them or something?

ETA: not sure why I’m being downvoted for asking a question about something from another country where I have no experience or understanding…? Lol. Also thanks to everyone who replied! I understand it now.

  5. I find it odd that badgers need to be culled “humanely” but it’s fine to make a game out of killing foxes.

Is it perhaps because badger baiting was more for working class people? Is cruelty magically less cruel when rich aristocrats do it?

  6. One down, many more to go. It will hopefully die off if young people refuse to join them and the older generations who still love tradition die off.

  7. First came for the badger baiters….

Then they came for the seal clubbers…

Then they came for the fox hunters…

How am I going to be cruel to animals now…?😞
