And if that support keeps growing, that world won’t be developping anymore.
Well, you can’t help it: people tend to root for the underdog :)))
Its funny how we Europeans just look at ourselves and believe that the rest of the world thinks the same.
Russia has plenty of soft power in South and Central America, Africa, Middle East.
There is plenty of people out there supporting Russia.
A lot of it is due to Russia providing them with (half working) Covid vaccines, while the west was busy stockpiling them for themself.
Russia don’t ask for much like Europe do in order to do business.
Quelle Suprise, dodgy mainly corrupt xxxxx “sorry “developing” countries looking up to Big Daddy Corrupt country….
I think it takes a certain level of self-flagellating mindset to think this doesn’t paint “the developing world” in a particularly bad light.
Funny how formerly colonized nations blame their colonizers and at the same time welcome and support neocolonial powers like Russia/China.
See the irony. The population of a lot of these countries, resenting from the colonization, approve putin’s war to colonize Ukraine… and, at least partially, their own country.
Shithole countries unite.
And the comments under this post clearly answer the question “Why”.
– “Shithole countries”
– “Neocolonial backwaters”
– “If they continue like this then they will stop ‘developing'”
– “Corrupt shitholes looking for new colonial masters”
Such an amount of snobbery and condescension. And then these same people are surprised: “Why do they think we’re hypocritical nits and arrogants? Why do they still treat us as former colonisers?”
Yet you don’t see the citizens of these countries migrate to Russia.
Some of the biggest Putin-supporters I have seen in my country have been migrants from the middle east, who talk about how much better Russia is while recieving full government support, free education, free health care and have multiple political parties fighting for their rights…
I have yet to hear any of them explain what Russia can provide for them that we can’t.
