Looking for advice. Soon moving into a house (rural area, no fiber) that never had an internet connection before. This saturday someone from mobile vikings (proximus) came to install a modem. Right now i’m dealing with +- 40 mps (both on cable and wifi). Whilst it should be inbetween 60-100 according to the person that came. I got the following mail as a reply. Is this a bs reply? Will this resolve anything? Should I look into changing a provider like Telenet? Heard they work through coax while Proximus doesn’t.
Sidenote: I don’t know anything about any of this, help is appreciated. Thanks 🙂

Ask this on [userbase.be](https://userbase.be) and you should get the appropriate answer wether this is your final speed or if it is still adjusting. It depends on certain factors.
For my VDSL connection via Edpnet, which also uses the Proximus network, it took about a week to slowly build up to the max possible speed profile. It’s not bullshit, give it a few more days.
This is actually true you have to wait a bit and it’ll improve. Why would they give you a bullshit reason to give themselves two meagre weeks.
This is perfectly normal. There are certain amount of profiles that are being tested during these 2 weeks.
It will try out you on the fastest possible download/upload speeds without losing quality.
All you can do is hope you get put on a faster speed.
Try not to reset your router.
This is likely a layer 1 thing (line condition profiles) and not something that actually interferes with your traffic on an IP (layer 3) level.
If that’s what’s going on, it’s legit.
