The California Nebula is an emission nebula located in the constellation Perseus. It is so named because it appears to resemble the outline of the US State of California on long exposure photographs. It is almost 2.5° long in the sky and, because of its very low surface brightness, it is extremely difficult to observe visually. By coincidence, the California Nebula transits in the zenith in central California as the latitude matches the declination of the object.
The Pleiades, also known as The Seven Sisters, Messier 45, and other names by different cultures, is an asterism and an open star cluster containing middle-aged, hot B-type stars in the north-west of the constellation Taurus. It is among the star clusters nearest to Earth, it is the nearest Messier object to Earth, and is the cluster most obvious to the naked eye in the night sky. The cluster is dominated by hot blue and luminous stars that have formed within the last 100 million years. Reflection nebulae around the brightest stars were once thought to be left over material from their formation, but are now considered likely to be an unrelated dust cloud in the interstellar medium through which the stars are currently passing.
High above the bed of the Tolminka River, there is a wooden sacred place, the Memorial Church of the Holy Spirit in Javorca, which bears the European Heritage label. The church celebrates the fallen Austro-Hungarian defenders of the Isonzo Front battlefield (1915–1917).

sky: 3 image pano – 35mm, f2.8, ISO 1250, 120sec. I made the pano just to be on the safe side due to loss of image because of tracking.
EDIT: I don’t know how is miss in the description which gear I used. It was taken with H-alpha modified Nikon D600 & Tamron SP 35mm 1.4, sky was tracked with Sky Watcher Star Adventurer

Looks like I need to escort Martin septim here to meet jauffery
Oh wow, TIL that my home state has a nebula named after it. It‘s funny to me because I usually think of astronomical bodies has having names rooted in Latin and ‘California’ is basically a made up word. I also learned that the names of nebulae aren’t really derived from Latin, so why not call it California?
A day later and I still love it.
Dark Star was partially based on the amazing visual experience these stars and objects bring.
