I know they’re no longer allowed but in my rental i still have these old wall sockets.

  1. The safe legal solution is to get new wall sockets, and because you legally have to have an electrician verify the installation, just have an electrician do the installation. Landlords need to be informed, but won’t object if you want to pay and sometimes will be willing to share part of the cost.

    You could buy cheap sockets (<5CHF) and install them yourself, but that would create a liability issue for you.

    You could also buy an cheap modern adapter, then DIY replace the plastic part with a 3D printed one, but that would compromise safety, create a potential fire hazard, and create a liability issue.

  2. Your best bet is asking some older people you know if they have an old one of these somewhere at home.

    Or make a post on tutti or whatever site that you are looking for one of these.

  3. I want two of those (they would be behind a piece of furniture, so no security risk to speak of)
    Our house got renovated in 2010 and the &£!@ electrician installed a lot of flat-faced sockets. I was too busy to notice and complain…
