I am trying to apply through [universityadmissions.se](https://universityadmissions.se/) but it is asking me there about semesters. How do they work? All I could find were the days that are included in that semester. But that didn’t help me as I still do not know what is better for me or what difference it makes at all. And does it mean that I am only going to study for half the year?

By law you should be guaranteed 25 days of paid semester if you work a whole year. If not, they calculate how many days you have earned.
But you always have the right to 25 day unpaid semester even if you only have been working for 3 months.
Most semester days are calculated between april-april. But in some jobs they calculate january-january, if I remember it correct.
For some jobs you have the right of 6 weeks paid semester, but thats not by law.
Not sure I understood the question correct. But hope I do.
We have two semesters of 20 weeks each, fall is end of August/beginning of September to mid January and spring is mid January (day after fall semester ends) to end of May.
Each semester contains courses for 30 credits which can be split into many courses. Not uncommon with a mix of 7,5 and 15 credits per course.
