Li Andersson (Left Alliance) and Sanna Marin (Social Democrats) preparing for the final debate and the end of their 2019-2023 ministerial terms. Polls predict a right-wing takeover in Sunday’s election.

  1. No, polls don’t predict right-wing takeover. Three parties are very even and one of them is Sanna Marin’s SDP. Although the government is hard to form without the National Coalition Party either way.

  2. Let’s be honest, this is really cringey. If you’re a serious politician, act serious. Enough of the PR fluff.

  3. Serious question as someone who is not familiar with Finish politics, but it seemed that besides the NATO topic and financial stability (which I thought both are concluded positively), Finland is always portrait as positive example in terms of politics and my impression was that the people are happy with the current government, so what is the actual picture in Finland? I actually thought that continuity if stable, is the way to go during crisis.

  4. Who buys this stuff.. We get it, they are so down to earth, just like one of us! It’s just a PR stunt. There’s a place and time to act stupid.

  5. I like Sanna Marin. She is not afraid to speak openly about the fact that Russia should leave Ukraine and that countries that can help the victim (Ukraine) should help.

I hope that the new prime minister will not focus exclusively on Finland’s internal problems and will not forget about Russia’s war

  6. People here are acting like a change of government is somehow indicative of a crisis. It’s pretty normal that opposition parties garner more votes than government parties, and back-to-back electoral success is pretty rare in Finland

  7. Maybe I’m an outlier, but I would be very unhappy to see Sanna Marin go because just look at her.

She also is an excellent head of state and didn’t deserve that bullshit scandal about the leaked party pictures. Totally out of touch, these crusty old white men that tried to bring her down over being a young woman having an innocent party at her home and dancing.
