Hi,
Looking to open up a business soon, which will deal with a lot of invoices, buying goods, customs etc.
I was wondering if there is any softwares out there that simplify the accounting process and are perhaps more tailored to Luxembourg?
Something like https://www.lexoffice.de ? Perhaps someone is even using LEX in luxembourg? Just not sure if it’s more tailored to the German Tax Authorities or if we in LU could also use it?

[Odoo](https://www.odoo.com/app/accounting) = More modern than most, includes other features that you can add on, great training vidoes.
[Xero](https://www.xero.com/) = Popular in the UK, you could use it for Luxembourg theoretically, invoice and supplier management is good.
[Sage BOB](https://www.sage.com/fr-be/produits/sage-bob/) = Pretty standard in Luxembourg, though a bit old. I think they have a newer version available. Probably the most adapted to Luxembourg.
With all of these you can call their sales team to see if they suit your needs.
Hey, I’m not an accountant but if you’re looking to build something serious, I know lots of ambitious entrepreneurs that have decided to go with Odoo. It’s built on modules and can extend with the size of the company. Highly recommend it.
Hi,
IMHO I think Odoo is one of the best tools currently available. Bob50 is purely accounting, Odoo is a full sized ERP with luxembourgish localization included, + it’s open source, flexible and they’re pretty reactive on things like the new omnibus law, VAT adaptations, tax declarations, electronic invoicing etc.
You can try Odoo for free for 30 days. If you only need accounting and invoicing is completely free. If you wish to add other modules like purchases, pos etc you pay per user.
As I recommended in an other post, the best is either to contact Odoo directly, contact a fiduciary like bcfea.lu which works with Odoo or an Odoo partner like it-c.lu which can help you to find the best solution as well.
There are other tools as well like zoho, azure (sita) or mercator but they all come with either a lot of restrictions, high prices, missing functions.
Azur ERP is one of the most popular one, it’s made in Luxembourg https://www.sitasoftware.lu/peppol
You might want to look into Zoho One with Zoho books for accounting. We‘re using this in my German company. But beware of the pitfalls, i.e. TVA. You‘ll have to configure it for that.
Don‘t even think about using Lexware! It is a bag of hurt. We‘ve used it in my Luxembourghish company in the late 2000 and our Fiduciare was very unhappy with the data he received from us. Datev Export doens‘t work if your Fiducaire isn‘t Luxembourghish and German.
[Wiges](https://wiges.lu/) – Made in Luxembourg, Made for Luxembourg.
Does all buying & sales workflows, manages your stock, HR, projects etc… from small to large businesses.
Part of the Fit4Digital program, so you might get help from digital luxembourg too.
Not an accounting software but can be integrated with BOB, Gesall etc…
