Even the Daily Express has realised Brexit isn’t all it was cracked up to be

  1. They made money attacking the UK in the EU in the 28 year run up to Brexit. They made money supporting the “Brexit implementation”. And now they realised that they can make more attacking how badly Brexit is going.

  2. They never seemed shy about showing brexit problems before this, just a matter of who they showed as accountable for it.

  3. Is the some kind of filter I can install to block news articles comprised exclusively of Twitter hot takes by random people?

  4. Isn’t the customs issue about to get *that much worse* from January also?

Don’t think we’ve come to the worst of it yet.

  5. Nah, the establishment has tired of Boris so they got the process moving by castigating him in the press (which they own), next they’ll start offering up their choices of his replacement, focus groups will be focussed on (if they get the answers right), the right polls will be published and their choice as his replacement will be ushered in. If there is resistance then they will simply have their man from the other party put in place and we will continue to slumber on.

  6. Will they admit their hand in its outcome though? They have been pushing for it for years, championing it until very recently and calling anyone who dared to admit things were not perfect a traitor or unpatriotic. Are they going to dedicate the front pages to how wrong they were? No, they will blame anyone but themselves and so will its readers. It will never be their fault that we went through with all this.

  7. Anybody running a national newspaper, even a shit one, must have a reasonable understanding of how the world works. They haven’t just “realised” Brexit is shit. They knew it all along, and knew that at some point it would become undeniable, and have now calculated that the time has come to change their message. As they always knew it would.

They will probably now spend 28 years campaigning to get us back into the EU, and claim a victory when it happens.

  8. With the amount of restrictions on items you’re allowed to send to the EU now, it’s become an bad joke.

I hate breaking bad news to customers explaining that you’re not allowed to send various items.
