The real eyebrow raiser for me is how many TDs have been discovered with dodgy dealings in a very short space of time by The Ditch. Make you genuinely wonder what the fuck the rest of Ireland’s Press Corps were doing for the past decade or ten.
Fucking gobshite thought some bullshit PR from a random advisor would be good enough to get away from his law breaking.
It’s so refreshing to have some *actual* investigative journalists like the 3 journos at The Ditch doing good work in Ireland
How do they not cop what the Ditch are going to do. Every single time. These lads are meant to be the leaders of us, and they get caught by the Ditch every single time.
I guarantee there will be a significant chunk of the population who will see this as him being clever and getting one up on the system, and sure who would declare anyway, don’t we all do it on some level.
Tbh I can’t think of a single farmer I know who didn’t under declare their income to get grant money at some point. The perception of “everyone does it” and “the rich don’t pay taxes anyway so what’s the harm” is not baseless, and it’s more pervasive than you’d think.
It’s not just farmers either for the record, I knew a girl in college from a very rich family just outside Dublin who was able to get the full maintenance grant for students because her dad was retired. I was suggested multiple times I should get a family friend to diagnose me with autism or ADHD so I could sign on for disability welfare.
As a Clare voter who has never supported FF, I’m curious to see how this falls out for him.

Honestly, I really respect the Ditch for doing some actual investigation into Ireland’s political types.
Long past due that we have some journalists digging into this.
Would love to see others joining in on this and exposing these corrupt cunts.
I grew up with Cathal, had a lot of friends in common but haven’t seen him in years . This doesn’t surprise me one bit.
