Such an awful and totally unnecessary death.

Self-confessed anger issues is an understatement! I’m not sure how I’d react to finding someone in my home, but extreme violence against a clearly harmless person is unthinkable.

  2. > Mrs Barnes collapsed outside the front door of Redfern’s home, where he mocked her as she complained of chest pains before losing consciousness.

    I hope it’s a long sentence.

  3. Hope he gets a long, lonely sentence. Absolutely vile man. RIP poor lady, even though her last moments were pure horror, I hope her last day with friends was lovely.

  4. Very sad. Of all the houses she accidentally ended up in, it happened to be lived in by a psychopath and resulted in her being killed…

  5. He’s an absolute animal and deserved to be locked up. There was no reason to do this to her; he just wanted/needed a reason to kill someone and went for it.

  6. Good, hopefully he’ll have a very miserable time. I can’t help but think of his fiancée too – with a personality like this, I’d be surprised if she hasn’t suffered horribly over the years.

  7. He claimed this old woman tried to attack his partner and he was defending her – but there’s footage of his partner telling him that he could have simply escorted her out – he definitely was looking for an excuse for violence.

  8. Old lady killers get absolutely terrored in prison. This has been an extremely public case too he’s in for a miserable life sentence
