Imagine how different the world would’ve been now had the EU and NATO said yes to Putin’s wish to join both organisations shortly after he took office.
Or if NATO had been disassembled after the fall of the Soviet Union/Warsaw Pact.
But the US needs perpetual enemies and war to fuel its economy and to keep its population from standing up and demanding a better life; sadly, Western Europe were either too cowardly to say no, or equally in need of greasing the money/gravy-train. Or both.
