Italy requires quarantines for unvaccinated EU visitors. Italy’s health minister signed an ordinance requiring any unvaccinated visitor from another EU country to quarantine for five days after arriving

  1. We should have done this at a EU level since the start of the pandemic. The Western world is really a laughing stock for all Asian / Oceanian countries that managed to contain covid in the beginning.

  2. Quarantines shouldn’t be even considered at this point, especially after 2 years of this circus. Let people live their lives, this is not some turbo-ebola

  3. They weren’t doing that before??
I thought it was the policy since some of the countries I’ve been too, though in Asia, have imposed quarantines for the unvaccinated.

  4. Why we all don’t just quarantine *all* travellers for a week and test them before and after when they arrive is a mystery to me. It is fairly clear that the testing done at the departure sites is inadequate.

If you absolutely *must* travel during a global pandemic then you should expect some limitations to your freedom

  5. And all vaccinated people need testing, even those with booster vaccination. At the same day, the new German Minister of Health Karl Lauterbach announces that three times vaccinated people do *no longer* need to be tested! And then they wonder why their actions are no longer taken seriously: No one knows what they are doing, it’s all just pretension that they did something.
