My family got this in 1999, a year before I was born. I remember as a child I would run up to the phone whenever it rang😂. One day, landline calls abruptly stopped as by then everyone was using Whatsapp.

Have exactly the same type phone but with Avoca and Telecom Eireann written on it. It’s right in front of me and still use but with a Virgin Media telephone connection.

There used to be a locked case for this phone that covered the whole phone except for the handset and the 9 digit. I know because my mother got it to stop me nattering on the phone for hours.
Actually wouldn’t mind something like this since the Eir broadband subscription includes a landline for some reason and it wouldn’t be any cheaper without it. I’ve an amazon special rotary phone right now but it doesn’t have that authentic charm, if you know what I mean.
