I had the misfortune of working there for about a year pre-pandemic.
While the building is certainly well-known, it’s an absolute nightmare to keep *clean*.
The business also grew a fair amount while I was there. There was precious little off-site storage, to the point where we had boxes of coffee sitting along the back wall simply because there was no where else to put them. Our DM eventually had to negotiate something with the STIB to get a tiny room.
The store also gets very hot during the summer, to the point that they have to put fans underneath the counters out of view of customers.
Nice to go, but probably not the place I’d work at again.
Counterpoint: it’s unfortunate a nice building like that is taken up by a Starbucks.
The walls of this thing are always so dirty, as well as the pavement around it. Never found it very inviting to enter
Too bad their coffee is everything but remarkable
Considering there is one in the grand place, I don’t know.
It’s also one of the most ridiculous. And relatively new.
I remember years ago there used to be a great nightclub in the basement (right under where it sits now) before this was built. Not sure what’s there now.
Place Rogier and the tower behind is Belfius Tower
paid for with union busting money
you do realize the function of this building is not to house a starbucks I hope. Starbucks has nothing to do with it

It’s just a big roof but pretty iconic I agree

The architect is Xaveer de Geyter. He also built the [Province House in Antwerp](https://external-content.duckduckgo.com/iu/?u=https%3A%2F%2Ftse1.mm.bing.net%2Fth%3Fid%3DOIP.arno7r9ytZlsXlxp8YHLdgHaE9%26pid%3DApi&f=1&ipt=48a3087eeee65c1db7d39741b1dc703f79740cfcfb8c6876e31ab67a41e0b151&ipo=images)
