Hello! anyone willing to critique this / give some insider info would be greatly appreciated.
My girlfriend and I (late 20s) are going in mid May. When we travel, we like to have a nice balance of outdoor activities (hiking/biking/walking) during the day, and checking out some low key pubs/restaurants in the place we’re in at night.
Day 1 (just night)
Fly into **Trieste**, Italy at 8:30pm. Rent a car and drive straight to **Piran**. (*any suggestions on whether to rent the car in Trieste, or somewhere in Slovenia instead?)*
Day 2:
Check out **Piran** during the day, either drive or bike to check out **Koper**, then at night/evening drive to **Ljublijana.**
Day 3:
Explore **Ljublijana** during the day and night
Day 4:
spendin morning in Ljublijana, then Drive to **Lake Bled** (stay here tonight and next night). Check out area/walk around the lake
Day 5:
Drive very early to **Vintgar Gorge** for a few hours. Then drive to **Triglav National Park** to see **Lake Bohinj** then back to Bled.
Day 6:
Hike in **Triglav National Park -** thinking either [Seven lakes](https://trekhunt.com/en/article/triglav-national-park-hiking-trails/) Hike, [julian alps of slovenia](https://www.earthtrekkers.com/hiking-julian-alps-slovenia-vrsic-pass-sleme-and-slemenova-spica/) , or [Savica Falls](https://travelslovenia.org/savica-waterfall/) any suggestions would be awesome
Then drive to **Bovec** area after hike
Day 7:
Either do a hike on the **Soca River**, or something else in the **Bovec** area. have to do some more research
Day 8:
Drive back to **Trieste** in the afternoon for a flight to **Dublin** at 8:45pm.

Some car rental agencies have policies against travelling to other countries with a rented car. You might wanna look into this.
Day 6: go somewhere lower, winter conditions apply and do not go if you do not have proper experience in winter mountaineering and not having proper gear.
Also, it’s Ljubljana 😉
As somebody already mentioned do not screw around with day 6 location without experience and gear. I know I am just repeating but the nature there is just as cruel as it is beautiful. People die for taking it too lightly. I am an avid hiker and on few occasions I had more luck than brains, eventually I learned…
