Nothing to see here. He thought the patient was safe, not dangling 200 feet above the tarmac and had already worked a load of overtime to keep other patients safe and healthy.
This week on “headlines that I’d bet one of my legs miss out important details that make the story sound much worse than it really is”….
Even if he had tried to help, it is possible he would have failed. Suicidal people are hardly rational and they may have already reached the point of no return, even if help turns up at the last minute. Even the best doctor in the world might have failed here and a doctor not being given the full details of what was happening would have next to no chance of succeeding.
Sounds like a highly manipulative manoeuvre by the “patient”.
‘I want to talk to the King or will kill myself.”
I wonder whether the King would be in trouble if he says no?
I straight up don’t believe that both a nurse and a police officer didn’t fully explain the situation, let alone either not using the word “suicide” whilst asking for help. Reading between the lines my money is on the doctor lying through his teeth, but since there’s no video/audio recording to prove him wrong, the tribunal chose the easy way out with a “Well shucks, chalk it up as everyone could communicate better next time!”.
Doctors aren’t psychologists or counsellors are they
