  1. Houd gewoon afstand. Je hebt tijd genoeg gehad om ruimte te maken. Mocht je wel iets ergs overkomen, wordt dit dier afgeschoten terwijl de confrontatie simpel te voorkomen is.

  2. Next time: better take a couple of steps back to signal you aren’t going to interfere with whatever they are doing. Unless you think you are stronger or faster than a 600+kg Highlander.

That bull wasn’t coming up to you for cuddles.

  3. Honestly, who knows if things like running away weren’t going to make things worse. I don’t know what I would have done if there was no safe place to run to, probably the same thing.

  5. Standing still is pretty valid way to behave in this situation, not sure why OP is getting criticized so much

  6. Bull just said: no filming bruh and get off my got damn lane

I always talk to them and make plenty of noices if I come across them and just keep moving in the direction I’m going steadily and that normally helps.

Edit: they have hair in front of their eyes as well, they can’t really see you that easily

  7. It’s more of a nudge to remind you of the rules about keeping your distance, even if it’s the animal coming closer to you, not you too them. Don’t expect them to remember the rules and interpret them wisely and fairly, just keep your distance and keep yourself safe from harm.

  8. We have them in our area as well. As soon as I see one I walk slowly back, because they can be very unpredictable. You’ve been lucky.

  9. It wasn’t aggressive right? There are some close to my parents house and they are very sweet. They usually stay away from people but somethings get a little curious. I just look at them like really big dogs. The headbump seemed playful to me, just pet it.

  10. I had something like this happen to me once. I sat on a bench and the herd came to me. One of them licked my leg and it felt like sandpaper, so i pulled back as an automatic replex. The highlander ran back quickly as a panic reflex. They are pretty chill in general, and i havent seen them be agressive.
