Importance of religion in Europe

  1. Czechia and Slovakia fascinate me. I would have thought they’d be near identical having been the same country for most of the last 100 years, albeit with two different but not dissimilar languages and ethnicities.

  2. If it’s 6% in total in Estonia, then it must be crazy low among ethnic Estonians, considering that the Russian minority is a lot more religious.

  3. Basically, with some notable exceptions, the Protestant countries are more atheistic than the Catholic and Orthodox countries.

  4. I don’t want to start some kind of racist shit in here – but honestly except for ONE (lunatic) Christian the only people I know that give a shit about religion are immigrants – or those descended from them.
That’s mostly Islam… but I do meet the occasional devout African Christian.
There are also a handful of Jewish communities dotted around the UK, biggest one being in London. I kind of give them a free pass since they are so low in numbers, and especially considering all the terrible shit they’ve had to deal with for millina.

  5. Serbia and Croatia surprise me because I thought it would be the other way round

Croats and Serbs please educate me on this one

  6. And just a couple of centuries ago there were so many wars and many people died because of differences in religion in Europe.
