Wet wipes ban planned in England to tackle water pollution

  1. Almost all wet wipes will be banned in England under plans to tackle water pollution.

It is part of a wider plan to improve water quality in England, where no river or waterway is considered clean.

  2. What? I can’t live without wet wipes, my rear door doesn’t tolerate toilet paper, what will I do now? There should just be a campaign telling people not to flush them. Why ban it completely?

  3. Get a spray bottle of 60-70% ISO and make your own wet wipes with normal tp. Get yourself squeaky clean and save the planet.

    Only stings for a bit.

  4. There are alternatives that can can be thrown in the toilet. Not many, but some big brand started to produce them. I always carry them with me when not at home, so it was something I was looking forward.

  5. I usually wet my toilet paper in the sink before using it, works pretty much like a wet wipe and it’s much cheaper too. I don’t soak it, I wet it only just enough to make it comfortable.

  6. Who even throws wet wipes in the toilet? You guys don’t use toilet paper?

(Though I guess a better alternative would be to make sure that wet wipes becomes biodegradable rather than ban them).

  7. How about you just don’t trow them in the lou?!

I’ve seen these clog up the entire line in a flat and explode in the ground floor apartment, you couldn’t get the smell out even with fire…
