“Objective: Offend as many Europeans as you can.”

Is the provocation here that Switzerland is part of Germany, the Nazi Flag or something else ?

There is a lot of “Swiss Nazi Gold” jokes on the Internet because Switzerland traded with the Nazis, but I never heard that the Swiss supported the Nazis

  1. Yes you’re correct that if you want to be “offensive” to Switzerland, Jew gold is the number 1 joke that is internationally known because in parts it’s true. I have never seen this joke before where Switzerland is just included into Nazi Germany.

    Also the treatment of jewish people before and during (and to some extend, even after) was absolutely vile and disgusting:

    Also this one is deeply uncomfortable to read as it gives a glimpse into the Swiss right-wing attitude towards Jews fleeing the Holocaust in 1942:

  2. Switzerland needed entire trains full of coal every day from Germany to survive the war.

    Switzerland needed to import a lot of food just to survive. There is not enough of agricultural area in this country compared to the population size.

    But Switzerland was also ready to fight the Germans, and make them pay a price of admission.

    If you take things out of context, that will piss people off.

  3. The Swiss traded with the Nazis just as the US did back then. There are no innocent people in that game. Fuck, I wish that whole hoity toity lore of “I am American and I think Switzerland is bad due too …” would die the fuck off one day.
