Only made possible by 25-30 years of NATO-standardization and harmonization. Had we just now in 2022 started looking into it, we would still be 30 years away from fullfilling the requirements.
Big thanks to Kokoomus and RKP, as well as the majority of officers in the FDF who have been pro-NATO this whole time. Defence minister Elisabeth Rehn pushed hard for US-made fighter jets in 1992*. That decision alone changed the course of history for Finland.
Absolutely immense win for NATO’s northeastern flank, the baltics just got a huge load taken off their backs.
I guess we should thank master strategist vlad “Huilo” putin for that. He proved that neutrality with such neighbor as ruzzia is not an option.
They literally pulled the “Nato ascension speedrun any%” irl, impressive.
