I remember when I was around 14 or so I went to a family birthday party. My uncle used to be pretty high up in the Dutch Airforce. Since his family was quite a military family small talk often seemed to go there. The internet was new and I read up that Volkel airbase hosted US nukes. But the face on that guy when some random 14-year old tells him he knows the ‘secret’ of US kept nukes. It was incredibly funny.
“How do you know this???”. “Euuuh, internet?”
We don’t have nuclear bombs. Right?
There are no bombs in ~~ba sing seh~~ Volkel
This is just speculation from someone who saw a photo on a recruitment site where this photo happened to geolocate to Volkel airbase.
As you all know, there are no nuclear weapons stored at Volkel airbase.
This photo has the obvious style of a photographer covering an exercise, keeping both the instructor and the trainees in frame, as opposed to any attempt at damage assesment.
Als je naar het rapport doorklikt, gebruiken ze een foto met Amalia om te laten zien dat het op Volkel is.
Oké, jammer, maar niet erg ofzo. Kernbommen zijn heel geavanceerd, het is niet dat zo’n ding kan exploderen omdat ie van een tafel valt.
After a quick google search it seems that we still have a few spare ones. So no need to panick, we are still able to totally nuke ourselves.
Er liggen (waarschijnlijk) VS wapens in Volkel maar die worden volledig gecheckt door de Amerikanen die op de basis wonen. Soort van een basis in een basis verhaal. Ik heb daar stage gelopen en de NL soldaten komen daar amper.
Als die jongens van Centraal Beheer snel zijn maken ze morgen een nieuwe commercial nu het nog kan 😉
