Kinda weird since she did pretty well. Personally, I detest politicians stepping down after being elected, you put your name on the ballot, prepare to fulfil your duty the next X years.

Great news for Finland.
I’m not surprised given the unnecessary flak press and some other people were giving her.
She was imo very good leader.

Apparently her husband also quit his job in finland. I think she has a cushy job already lined up for her in brussels. Sucks for the 30 000 or so finns that voted for her.
Well fair enough, she lost the elections after all.
Hope they find someone to bounce SDP back up, I’m all for socdems in Europe.
Typical of young politicians who treat their office like a stepping stone in their career. In a couple of years you’ll be seeing her as advisor for some big American bank with a salary in the millions while she herself goes around doing lectures and seminars. Being PM of your home country should be the apex of a political career, after which you retire for good – not something you do in your 30’s and then move on to other “opportunities”.
