  1. in fact Romania was later an ally of Nazi Germany, and after the defeat of the III Reich paid the bill for its wrong choice

  2. Your title is slightly wrong

In 1924 Romanian government specifically banned the **Communist Party of Romania** not Communism.

Other communist organizations and parties continued to operate in Romania like the Socialist-Communist Party of Romania, which was founded in 1921 and continued to operate throughout the interwar period. The party was eventually officially banned by the Romanian government in 1933, but it continued to operate underground and through front organizations.

The law which is actually relevant today in Romania is the one which passed in 1991, which prohibited Communist Party and other political organizations that promote communism.

Honestly I definitely don’t want this kind of laws atleast in my country, because it could be abused against economically left parties by proclaiming they are touting communist ideology.

In Slovenia I voted for Levica and I’m sure this party would get banned in Romania even though they don’t associate with USSR.

  3. the whole concept of banning way of thinking sounds pretty stupid. Same goes for the banning of the nazi politcal Party in Germany.

Any political ideal with enough force or support which threatens the stability of the current government will happen, banned or not.

Best thing to do is: Run a country where the economical and social situation ain’t shit enough to have radical ways of thinking to be exalted.

  4. That don’t make sense, if Romania had an authoritarian Communist dictator. So no, Romania had not banned Communism for 99 years. Romania was a Socialist Republic since like late 1940’s to 1989. What is with this 99 number? Is this a troll?
