Then, he tends to have sound opinions on many issues while the Cyprus issue is not one of those as his line turned out to be ‘British also do have bases in there, why shouldn’t we keep the island as our own base? Cyprus is crucial for Turkey, and we should do reverse our mistakes to keep Turkish Cypriots happy but still under our thumb and pseudo-state while disregarding what they want for their own future’.
It’s lined with many of Turkish modernist, pro-Western and social-democrat bunch turning into pseudo-imperialists when it came to Cyprus issue.
