Not sure why OP is getting so much grief. The guy didn’t want Shake Dog, picked another place and what arrived was Shake Dog food. Tbh I’d be fairly annoyed too.
OP ordered from a place, received food from completely different business.
And everyone’s annoyed that he didn’t get on to deliveroo about it?
Jesus.

This happened to me during lockdown.
Saw a class place that was located out in the suburbs that seemingly had moved to a location in the city (just going off the distance to me).
Ordered and the food was shite, nowhere near the quality you get in the place and dishes being completely different in flavours.
Had a look at the location and there is another restaurant at the address. Turns out the owner happens to own both and just stuck the name on Deliveroo but sent it from the other place.
Went back and forth with Deliveroo for weeks on it before they finally refunded me.
Would now avoid both places because yer man was such a chancer.
Awh Jesus and I was hoping ghost kitchens hadn’t made their way over here. Ordering food is going to be like a minefield soon
Same all over
> Order great food for everyone and get it delivered all together with United Eats. Delicious fried chicken from **Chickoletta**, your burger your way from **Stackit Burgers**, scrumptious Chinese meals from **Peking Street Food**, whatever you fancy from **Pizza Tossers** and something delicious from **Soul Shakes**.
Shake Dog is shite too. Last time I ordered it a young fella on a bike showed, food in a plastic bag half cold.
Yeah, seems like a ghost kitchen. They are common here in the US through delivery apps like DoorDash and UberEats. Regular restaurant makes food for other vendors or sets up shop as different vendors…not sure how it all works.
There are a couple of places in the D6 area that are doing this. Am fairly certain at least that ‘DOM Burger’ and ‘The Chicken House’ send food from the same kitchen.
Let’s just say I became very, very acquainted with the local takeaway options over the various lockdowns, lol.
Edit: The plot thickens, because if you go to both places’ address on Google Maps they appear to point to the same derelict unit. Where does that food come from???
This reminds me of a few years ago when Shake Dog got themselves in to the top 5 restaurants in Cork City on Tripadvisor by offering a discount/free food (can’t remember which) to anyone who left a review on Tripadvisor. They didn’t specify it had to be a good review but most people left a 5 star one just to get the free food.
Ghost kitchen. Common enough since covid.
Ghost Kitchens are honestly a stain on delivery apps. I saw a video recently where a dude did a deep dive into it. He went through ubereats and 40 different restaurants were operating out of 1 unit. It’s honestly pretty concerning that these places can exist, as surely there is a massive problem with cross contamination? One was selling sea food out of the unit, others were selling Chinese food. I think they should be banned to be honest, it’s incredibly deceptive. I thought we had avoided it here to be honest since the cities are way, way smaller and you’re more likely to notice something new you haven’t seen before.
There’s a pizza shop in Belfast that is 9 different businesses on Deliveroo. Franky and Benny’s also operate as 4 different businesses on Deliveroo here, if you go to Franky and Benny’s on there that’s their full menu then there is a burger business that’s just their burger menu, a chicken shop that is just the chicken items from their menu and a rib place that’s just the ribs and wings portion of their menu.
Eddie Rockets in Athlone was the same.. we ordered from another place (forget the name as they’re gone now) but it was Eddie rockets who took and fulfilled the orders.
Don’t know why people are giving you shit.
Clearly none of them have dealt with delivery, just eat or the like. Fucking impossible. Also, nothing wrong with you giving a PSA.
Bullshite that you don’t know where your money is going.
Should need a company registration number to register for deliveroo . That, at least, would probably deter some from doing it
It’s called Ghost Kitchens and it’s a thing. Maybe just don’t deliveroo, it’s the airbnb of lukewarm food, injecting itself into the value chain and stepping on the revenue to the detriment of the business and the customer.
I wouldn’t mind if they came up with more clever names. Fake businesses that feature in one episode of a sitcom have better names than this.
Then again these are from the mind that brought you… Shake Dog.
Which is named that way because they sell shakes and hot dogs. But I always think of a wet dog shaking itself off. And all the hair and splattering water going all over my food.
That’s why I never order from those Mother Cluckers.
You can report them to Deliveroo to show they are fraudulent.
Thanks for the info. Got Frank’s Loaded Fries one night. Literally the worst takeaway I’ve ever gotten.
Don’t think ghost kitchens are illegal, once it’s safe I’m not sure anything can be done.
Why are you twerps still using justeat and deliveroo….especially deliveroo…propping up the gig economy!
Its been extremely common for quite a while. The delivery apps allow it and it definitely creates a massive illusion of choice so I can see why businesses do it.
Just don’t Oder deliveroo or just eat prices are higher that the actual cost and then charge delivery biggest scam in the world at the moment if I can’t collect it I won’t order unless the restaurant delivers themselves
Sounds like a ghost kitchen, have heard of them being very common in the US, most famously as of late with the YouTuber Mr beast and his Mr beast burger franchise
those shit ghost kitchens arrived in Europe too now huh
Unfortunately this has been happening in Ireland for years, at least in Dublin. I worked for just eat before and we’d always have places doing it. Your best bet is to always check the street address listed on the website before ordering. Then Google that address and usually their main business name will pop up.
Ghost kitchens.
I’ve sworn never to get anything from shakedog ever again, this is gonna make it harder.
Last time me and my friends went, 8 out of the 9 us got really bad food poisoning.
I remember something similar happening in Dublin where 3 different sushi places were operating online based in the one place. Health inspector shut them down I think.
Scumbags.
I’d be asking for a refund.
Do they also have a pizza place? I feel I’ve seen that on the window walking by there, like with the breakfast guys branding that is also there.
Separating the breakfast guys bit from the rest of the place is a bit scummy already, but I guess its the same as Four Star with their burgers.
The other stuff on that list is literally what Shake Dog sells and is known for though, that to me is a whole lot worse as I feel people ordering from there are making a conscious decision to not have Shake Dog and presuming that the other options are better(usually a good assumption lol)
Whats wrong with Shakedog? Genuine question, never heard of it, not from Galway.

Best to check if the restaurant has an address in the future if you want to avoid ordering from ghost kitchens.
Sounds like the terror of [ghost kitchens](https://youtu.be/KkIkymh5Ayg) have arrived in Ireland
