I kind of hope they do. I’m not convinced that the kind of micro targeted ads that social media encourages are good for democracy. If a party wants to say what they intend to do then say it where we can all heat it, not just to the people you know will like it.
The problem, inevitably, is going to be with the definition of “political”

Meta should not be deciding political discourse. And, from how they process anti-queer rhetoric with “this video [explicit call to kill queer people] does not violate any of our terms”, they would conveniently decide that any political ads that suit their needs are permitted.
