Nothing like a symbolic vote. Just as well DCC don’t have any responsibilities in the way of housing though otherwise people might ask what they’ve been at for the past few years…
Could they just do these symbolic things using a doodle poll, instead of taking up council time with things that they have no power over, and just spend their time actually working on and getting things done on things that are in their remit and have powers over?
How about voting to collect all unpaid rent in social houses to improve maintenance.

DCC taking some time out of their busy schedule of blocking any development more than two stories tall to tell everyone how much they care about the housing crisis.
