Marin might have stepped down even if her party had won the election. It has been evident for a long time that she is more interested in being an international celebrity than being PM.
It will be interesting to see who will succeed her as party leader.
I thought she did an amazing job and was an inspiration for political involvement to Millennials and Gen Z like my kids, who saw Finland as an equitable society with fewer barriers than most countries due to her. Sadly we’ve yet to have a woman President in the US never mind one her age but should!

She was ok, I guess. I appreciated her straightforwardness on several issues. I felt she suffered from a little hubris and got sloppy with how she conducted herself as a public figure though. I’m all for empowerment but that nonsense with haavisto/covid and partying with influencers was just bleugh.
But like some others have stated the party have some issuess as well, I used to vote sdp for a long time but shifted to VL some years ago.
I dont like Orpo, but he did smart and got a hamburger from jaska after the election. Those things resonate better with the finnish everyday people.
