The bare feet always makes me wince, the cold and the rough ground, ouch!
What’s the smaller structure beside the house?
It always strikes me when people down the pub sitting close to the fire in warm new clothes drinking pints with high blood pressure and cholesterol problems and an opinion that will solve world issues, say stupid stuff like “sure they had better times back then, everything was simpler, no preservatives in the food, healthier people” and then you see this photo.
This is why the Banshees of Inisherin pissed me off. This is the kind of gaff they’d have been living in. Probably wouldn’t have looked as good on screen in fairness.
2104. I stayed in that airbnb
Lovely wee cove up there with a sandy beach.
That will be 1200 euros per room a month
Cabin?
That’s a really cool sub actually. I usually binge on it like once a month, fair play to the fella running it
Forgot the E
Glen where even the accent is harsh. Imo it has one of Ireland’s nicest wee beaches, Silver Strand.
I’d love to know exactly where that photo was taken in Glen, I would guess that there is a very high chance the ruins are still there. I have family living in Malinmore and spend time there every year.
It must’ve been a tough life. My dad used to say he loved the summer months as a child when he could go barefoot from May until September. He was born in 1935.
