  1. Why did the government underspend 1 Billion during a housing crisis?

    —-“ But Sinn Fein”

  2. I mean, putting aside the stupidity a second of accepting there’s a housing crisis, and just going “but Sinn Fein”…

…if Sinn Fein “need” the housing crisis, why wouldn’t the current government actually work harder to remove it as a political issue? If the government wanted to undercut the voters who are backing SF, why not genuinely make widespread changes to the philosophies that have caused the crisis?

  3. “You see, the problem isn’t our screw up. It’s the non-government party pointing out our screw up that you should be worrying about.”

  4. Say what you want lads, part of the problem with these guys is the public. There’s a reason this guy got elected in the first place.

  5. Right. So Sinn Féin, right, have infiltrated the government because they have shape shifting lizard people, right? And then they went back in time a few years – they have time machines too, I forgot to mention that – and made it so the Fine Gael governments only APPEARED to not care about housing. And then – stay with me here – they infiltrated Fianna Fáil as well by using mind control beams from Mars, so that the government couldn’t see the billions of euro they were going to spend on housing – honestly, they were, I swear – and instead made it seem like the bill for the Children’s Hospital was constantly skyrocketing. Then, they created a diversion by making it seem like there was leaks coming from the government to various GPs so that the lizard people were able to escape back across the border where they turned back into Gerry Adams, and Martin McGuinness, who isn’t actually dead he’s just pretending.

Also, I’m not Leo Varadkar, and I’m not making this up. I swear.

    (But seriously… Sinn Féin’s fault.)

  6. So it might be a good political strategy to take away the housing crisis from SF by,,,, I donno, doing something about it.

  7. SF are a populist party, if they don’t have issues there to generate support as opposition, they wouldn’t be a significant party. Obviously he’s saying it to deflect, but also it’s just reality.

  8. Why didn’t you’s just spend the money, it’s what it was there for, of course yous are going to get called out on it incompetence across the Dail is beyond believable, like a bunch of teenagers in first year

  9. I cant wait for Sinn Fein to get into the hot seat and unleashed some of that tried and tested socialist financial acumen.

    Dog sandwiches anyone?

  10. They must be pissed they aren’t going to be able to easily pocket that money themselves which I now assume is the only concern they have had the last few years.

They’ll probably still manage to get that money into private hand and their tabloids will help them do it.
