  1. It’s absolutely shocking that they’d not bother trying to at least do something about the state of it before taking photos. It’s horrifying that people are living there.

I can’t believe they included walking distance from the children’s hospital in the description.

  2. “The property is in need of TLC”

The bathroom picture doesn’t capture just how bad it is, but if you do the virtual walkthrough and pan up, the entire ceiling is jet black with mold. Whoever lives in that place has likely put themselves into an early grave with how fucked up their lungs must be.

  3. At least they’re totally honest photos instead of the usual trick of rolling a few coats of white emulsion over the black mould long enough to go sale agreed.

You’d be ripping out everything in there 100%, mould is likely from water ingress from the roof so hopefully the timbers are OK. Fix that and dry the house out. Probably do the electrics and windows while the house is in shit

  4. Good lord. Most of these Corpo houses in the Drimnagh/Crumlin area are like this. A lot of them don’t seem as bad because there’s usually about 14 layers of wallpaper covering the mold. Mostly caused by fuck all ventilation in any of the rooms.

Source: Viewed many of the houses in this area and bought one

  5. “It will ideally suit an investor ”

    Translates to

“Hey landlords we have another shithole you can buy and charge extortionate rents for!”

  6. A special place in hell for anyone taking over a quarter of a million euro off someone for this abomination

  7. That is absolutely vile.

Why haven’t the people living there doing something about it? That amount of mould would take months to build up.

  8. Absolutely disgusting, if any kids live there which looks likely, they will have severe respiratory problems. With the amount of money it would cost to make this place livable and safe, you would be better off buying a new build. Extensive rewiring and wall/ceiling replacement would need to be done.
Properties like this should be sold as unsafe for habitation until a certification is issued after repairs are done. It wouldn’t be legal to drive a car with extensive rust or other issue, so why is it accepted here?

  9. Something went seriously wrong here. I can’t tell if that’s a teen’s room or a student renter but this is vile.

Whether that’s the landlord’s fault or not I don’t know but Christ, that is grim.

  10. I am actually depressed off my head looking at that, the poor fucking people that have to live there, absolutely scandalous

  11. First few pictures I was thinking “That looks grand actually. High price, but sure, that’s Dublin pricing for you.” And then I got to the bedrooms. Sweet mother of the divine. The real estate agent should be fucking ashamed for letting that get to market.

  12. Went to view a house a few years ago. It has mushrooms growing from the ceiling. When I said it to the auctioneer. He replied “what do you want, the Ritz? “

  13. Hi, I’m a mushroom person, and I’d like to like in this house because the mould and fungus growing on the walls are a strong indication that this is the right environment for me and my children, who are also mushroom people 🍄.

  14. Expensive pc, collectables and shoe boxes…the house is a death trap but man have some self respect and do something yourself. A bit of vinegar goes a long way.

  15. Interestingly, if you look at Google Streetview, this place has had a for sale sign up since November 2021 but is not listed as sold on the property price register.

It’s a loooong time on the market and it’s obvious why.

  16. Shame on landlord renting this hovel and so many people desperate for a roof over their heads, he should be reported to the RTB
