I remember when Salvini said this government will be remembered by the number of children born and not by public debt, while throwing a tantrum at abortion and LGBT. Since then, birth rates have only declined further.
Now Meloni said the base of her government is “the right not to abort”. I’m not expecting her to do any better with birth rates.
Couples who decide not to have children are very clear when stating their reasons, they say it is “because we can’t buy a home”. No government has ever done anything about it. They don’t have the competence required to get our economy back on track.
