Malta isn’t the only place where there is a two party system.
Yep. Pretty desperate situation. Endless cycle of criminals with no hope in sight and it gets worse and worse with each cycle.
Maltese have no rights in their own country and even less in Europe.
Case in point, The crooks in government turned malta into a mafia state by enforcing the EU right of businesses based in malta to operate across Europe and this was mainly gambling and money laundering and soon soft drugs.
Yet every European financial institution will refuse service to Maltese owned businesses and yet, not once, not a single politician or person in any position has ever complained or even raised awareness.
In fact malta has gone to make itself attractive internationally with laws and privileges which are denied to natural born Maltese including paying 7 times more tax for companies, free tax status for foreign employees at gambling companies, tax free status for passport buyers, the list goes on.
And while Malta is one of the easiest countries in the world to come live in and even marketed in LGBTQ magazines, Maltese themselves, even hard working, educated ones are left to their own means when trying to leave the island, there is no reciprocal agreement because the government does not give a shit about its citizens.
The government whichever party only wants crooks serving its interests and kicking money upstairs like good mafia soldiers, and any dissent is met with vindictive hatred.
Not only does the mafia not nurture its own entrepreneurs, it went from demanding bribes and retainers to inviting foreigners to come in and destroy native entrepreneurs as long as they pay them off.
It’s a failed state. And that is a dangerous thing.
Perhaps an independent investigative journalist should delve into the quagmire of Maltese politics to try and unroot corruption and cronyism…….. Oh right…..
You have to remember that the people who vote for these parties plainly want this situation. So the people worst affected by the situation … are harming themselves. Shrug and move on. A 12 party system that hasn’t had a functioning government since 2017 is where I’m from.
I know there’s complaints but you have to realise how good Malta Enterprise is for local companies. Much better than Invest NI (where I’m from).
Agree, but if people held parties accountable and didn’t vote them back in, it would help too. In Malta we have a lot of chickens with a vote.
Been saying this ever since I got my first vote you pretty much can do nothing about it and voting is pretty pointless to be voting for A or B While C is a subject of memes D just speculating things and E incompetent and dreams a lot.
One fills the other with dirt and memes about them and the other just takes it all in I guess that’s part of people’s mistake as well and the endless brain washing of politics in Malta……
In the end I found it pointless using my vote for an actual good party all of them like to fat finger things.
Maybe someday the old people will die off and the new generation actually fixes the mistakes we have but I highly doubt it on this stupid island where everyone knows each other……..
