UK economy: When are you going to feel better off?

  1. I’m getting a bit sick of that picture of Laura Kuenssberg in a pink jacket with her arms crossed trying to look like like she is proper journalist and not just a tory party lapdog/mouthpiece.

Wish she would just sod off and go to work for goldman sachs already.

  2. “After years of Tory government” is more accurate than after years of hard times. There’s a reason why the super-rich don’t feel worse off but everyone else does.

  3. BBC running pro government propaganda?

If inflation is zero then you are still MUCH worse off than before. but it means prices have stopped going up.

You still had 10%++ stolen from your wage packet by central banking inflation.

  4. Never. My only comfort (for lack of a better word) is that it is not my fault and that many other people are in the same boat. It is the system that is failing us, not people failing because of internal character faults.

  5. I graduated university over 12 years ago and every year I feel poorer despite developing my career further.

  6. When I’m on more than one meal a day and have shows that aren’t full of holes. Love being at uni 🙃

Edit: this one meal a day is not sustainable, it’s normaly rice on its own, pasta on its own or chips on its own, maybe a morrisons saver pizza/microwave meal for 70p when it’s on offer.

  7. When you stop taxing us at record high rates.

We currently have the party that’s supposed to be low tax. This is only going to get worse.

  8. Spoiler alert: never

The conservative party forced us into Brexit and imposed bogus COVID restrictions to cripple the NHS and make us more dependent on the government than ever. All to please their donors. How grand

  9. I don’t think anyone sees it getting better in the future, that’s what makes this all so oppressing
