Weren’t POW camps just as much of a part of the experience as the blitz spirit? Perhaps refugees can be let out to help on farms whilst angry Essex male leave supporters fill their communities with bile about immigrants? Immigrants can fill in for angry people to go protest about immigrants. The circle is complete!
Isn’t that what always happens in films about the war? I know it’s about Sussex, but I think I’ve seen this on Foyle’s War once our twice.
Essex locals really are the worst (unfortunately closely following by the SE London/Kent borders where I live).
Nimbys are bloody ridiculous.
You just know if the plan was to lock them in a disused site elsewhere these people would be cheering it.
