> Berlin has the best public transport system in the world, with Prague in second place. The ranking is the result of a survey conducted by Time Out, a publisher of tourist guides. It asked residents of selected cities how satisfied they were with public transport – 96 percent of Prague residents answered positively.

> 20,000 people in 50 cities took part in the survey and Time Out selected the 19 best ones. Only Europe and Asia made it into the top ten, with Europe being represented by Copenhagen in fourth place, Stockholm in fifth place and Amsterdam in tenth place, in addition to Berlin and Prague.

> “In our survey, a respectable 96 percent of Prague residents said it was easy to use public transport in their city. And it’s not just convenient, it’s also very impressive,” Time Out wrote on its website.

Hm Berlin is pretty good but I wouldn’t rate it as the best in the world.
Madrid is pretty great in my experience.
BERLIN?? Can’t imagine how bad the situation is in other cities to get us on the first place. Btw, native Berliner here…
I wouldn’t even say Berlin is the best in Germany.
Unfortunately this does not control for culture, which massively influences how much people complain and how well they rate their own public transport system. This essentially renders the data useless.
Berlin is well deserved
Having lived in both cities for at least 3 years each, they are both pretty good. Not the newest looking or most efficient, but there’s 2 areas where they really pull ahead of other cities imo: price and night service
Zürich would like to have a word…
No way Berlin is the best one. Not even in Europe, let alone in the world.

Haben die Lack gesoffen?
Great job!
Japan said that they were best in world..
This is why in Asia, there’s a lot of Asian listings made by Asians, not by Europeans. There’s a difference in metrics for sure.
Germans got a lot of experience with trains I hear.
Useless data…
Szczecin, Poland is the best and no one can convince me otherwise!
They never heard of malta
Berlin is… fine… like definitely not the best, especially with all its delays.
The best part about it that as long as your not super far out in the periphery, you can get from anywhere to anywhere even late at night.
It’s a comical list. Chicago in top 20. Probably ten cities each from Germany, France, Japan and China that have better public transport than Chicago.
Germans were always good at moving groups of people
…world? did they forgot Singapore?
Sorry but Vienna is hands down the most amazing capital city regarding its public transport.
Berlin? You gotta be joking. Its not even the best in Germany
Frankly nothing beats Madrid, Hamburg or Vienna. No idea how Berlin could win this.
