The Leaning Tower of… Ząbkowice. Unlike the tower in Pisa, this tower in Poland is not just leaning, it’s actually crooked, by circa 2 metres. The malformation was probably caused by tectonic shifts several centuries ago.

I love crooked buildings. Here in Germany, there are so many timber framed houses that “lean” over the street. One of the most famous ones is the [Schiefes Haus in Ulm](https://de.wikipedia.org/wiki/Schiefes_Haus_Ulm).
Beautiful. Thank you for sharing 😃

Whatcha doin?
The tower of Pisa is also crooked actually. The original builders of the XII century saw the tower subsiding already during the construction of the first few rings, so they stopped the works for more than a century.
Then in the XIII century the Pisani had another go at it and built the last 2/3 of the tower slightly leaning on the side opposite the leaning part. The idea was to counterbalance the lean caused by the soft ground of the foundations.
Fun fact – old name of this town is Frankenstein. No, it is not just name convergence ;).
Is this in Silesia?
The tower in Pisa is also crooked because it started leaning before it was finished so they on purpose tried to compensate.
I feel like Jimmy from south park trying to say Polish words.
The leaning tower at home:
Reminds me of the Oldehove in Leeuwarden: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Oldehove_(tower)
And the city was named Frankenstein before the war.
