  1. Continues to defend a liar and part of the most inept and incompetent Govt.
Part of the elite and took £20 off the poorest most vulnerable children in our society
    What not to like

  2. You know what these whip-up stories about “possible” contenders that the brexit-reversal squad throws up every now and then have in common? They always start by trying to goad the advisors of someone like Sunak, Truss, or Patel, before falling back on their favorite patsy, Jeremy Hunt.

The whipped up stories (on what parties SpAds might have had, or backbench MPs’ second jobs) are not the same issues that MPs are worried about (e.g. the Brexiteers feel Boris should be harder on the EU). They are transparently noise churned up to create the illusion of pressure.

Usually in the hope that “the pressure” will make Boris “cautious”. They tend to come out the week before they think there’ll be any decision on something about the EU. Patterson (though it had been on the record for ages) became the story in the week that Ireland (wrongly) was convinced a decision was being made on Art 16. This one’s timed because customs checks start on Jan 1, so the end of Dec / early Jan are times Art 16 might occur. etc.

If I were Boris, I would enact Art 16 tomorrow. The brexit-reversal squad whipping it up get their fingers burned, the brexiteers get sated with a harder line on the EU, and it stops the silly season shit stories about whether the person sitting next to Boris on a Zoom was wearing tinsel.

  3. Fuck me! Truss? The woman who can’t spell her own name?

I mean, none of the current shower have any real brains between them, but Truss has to be near the bottom of the pile.

Thinking about it though, do all tory party members get a vote?

I’d join and vote for her; it’d send the party into a death spiral and we might finally have some hope in this country again.

  4. Thing about Truss is that she has been in the background conspiring against Johnson, Raab, Gove, & Sunak for the last few months. she has been listening to the bollocks of a bunch of newly elected Red Wall MP’s who have been trying to use her as a trojan horse to attack Johnson. Also Truss made a major enemy out of Raab & Patel in particular. Truss sabotaged several requests that Patel put through the Home Office for MOD camps to hold immigrants before deportation. Truss ignored the request in an attempt to make Patel look bad. Also Patel has the support of LOT of hardcore Brexiteers & the European Research Group. so Truss has made an enemy of those Tory MP’s.

Truss is a lightweight and she will be found wanting in any leadership contest.

It going to come down to Raab, Patel, & Gove. Sunak is out. He openly lied for Johnson over the parties and cannot comeback from that. Either way this is going to be ugly for the tories. Proper civil war stuff.

  5. Imagine how incompetent the rest of the parliamentary conservative party must be to even consider Truss as the next PM.

  6. [The odds](https://www.oddschecker.com/politics/british-politics/next-conservative-leader), if anyone is interested. And if you were wondering just how fucking insane some people are, there are actual real human beings putting their money on Nigel Farage being the next Tory leader. And, amusingly, the odds of him winning – while not even being a Tory party member – are still better than leading Tory Brexiters like Fox, Leadsom, Dorries, IDS, Paterson, and Francois.

  7. You’re joking right? She’s so monumentally incompetent she’s fucked up everything she’s touched.

For a start every single trade deal she’s negotiated that _isn’t_ shrouded in secrecy is awful for us. Nobody believes the secret ones are going to be **better**….
