“”Over 3 billion doses of the vaccine have been supplied to more than 180 countries”
and only
“445 reports of major blood clots (thrombosis) with concurrent low platelets (thrombocytopenia) reported after AstraZeneca Covid vaccine, including, tragically, 81 deaths.”
Obviously tragic if those reports of jniury are true. However compared to the loss of life, negative health impact and overall impact of cvoid. I’d still call this a win.
Anti-vax pushback and propaganda against this comment will commence shortly. . .
Not sure how this works as I believe the government provided immunity/indemnity to COVID vaccine manufacturers in 2020?
AZ are immune, as was widely discussed at the time. That isn’t a conspiracy theory, and isn’t because “they know it kills!” or any of that bollocks, it’s because otherwise they would never have been willing to distribute it under emergency conditions.
It was in their contract with the government, however, that they cannot be sued?

Like any medical injury, truly sad, but in this case needs to be in proportion.
Those individuals, if they had ever needed heparinised anticoagulant therapy in hospital, or ITU etc, would have had the same response.
It’s truly tragic, but not a product of this particular vaccine per se, but of their unusual biology.
I truly hope their families etc do get appropriate compensation, as they trulyvshould, but not used as a weaponised antivaxer B.S. fest.
My auntie was unfortunately one of them. Blood clot in the heart, hours after taking the vaccine. She pulled through but had to be rushed to hospital.
Well, there’s one thing we can be sure of in the next pandemic.
No-one is going to offer a vaccine on a non-profit basis.
But in any case (and this applies to the for-profit vaccines too), this is what the “emergency authorisation” was all about that all the Covid vaccines were authorised under. That was literally the government (rightly) going “OK, so we’re confident that being vaccinated is better than not being vaccinated, we’re willing to take the risk of as-yet unidentified side-effects because that’s less bad than the virus continuing to do what it’s doing.”
And as such, if there’s to be compensation to the families of victims, it should be the government who pays. Otherwise vaccine makers will refuse to supply under emergency terms in future.
Remember when talking about this kind of thing would get you banned from Reddit? Good times…
Not anti-vax but I’m so glad I didn’t get the AZ or JJ. The very few people I knew who got it had it rough!
I was apart of the first 100k to get the jab, and within the first night I became seriously unwell, I had a nose bleed for the first time in 10 years, and my while bod was cold, i also shivers the whole night and even a headache that was so bad, it felt like my brain was boiling

I’m not surprised.
Every modern day vaccine and medical treatment comes with the risk of side effects which could include experiencing allergic reactions.
With every new vaccine and treatment involving prescribed medicine, only time will tell how many people who used it have experienced side effects & at what severity.
It will be interesting to see if the facts will reveal any mass dishonesty or negligence from experienced professionals who should know better.
Curious how people vehemently defend the vaccine, fair enough, it worked, but to be entirely closed to the concept of criticism without hesitation is a myopic approach, no? Every medicine and science should be treated with a degree of encouraged scrutiny surely?
My mum was healthy never smoked eats healthy , had this and now has constant health problems blood clots, necrosis of the lungs months in hospital
I had a fairly strong allergic reaction to the moderna vaccine. At A&E it was horrible, I could hear the doctors talking about me in the corridor discussing me and whether I was an anti-vaxxer or not. I turned bright red and my face swelled up, because I was gardening when it happened they kept saying I must have been bitten by an insect even though you could see where the redness began at the injection site. I don’t know why they didn’t want to believe it could be the vaccine. Afterwards I felt I couldn’t tell anyone because it might put them off their vaccines so I didn’t, so it’s like this weird secret I’ve been carrying round with me, something that never happened. I was on steroids for a bit after that and so ironically became vastly more at risk from covid than I had been before.

We had a positive PCR test, before the vaccine. I was 63, high blood pressure 3 stone overweight and (she’s a fit size 10) nether of us would have known without the test, just felt a tiny bit off colour. We only had the vaccine because we travel a lot, AZ two were fine and the Molina one made us feel rough for three days. I won’t be having any more, never had a flu jab either.
It is funny that European countries with fragmented health systems noticed these reactions, but the UK with the NHS did not. There must have been a good amount of denial, or worse, at play.
More.than 54 were highly affected. Others took days if not weeks to recover after receiving th e vaccination, O be wonders the later
damage it may have caused. Stroke, early death etc..
to those who received the AstraZeneca
Other Countries continued with Doctors appointment.
Why was it not completey stopped!
If these people have heart attacks will they ask the paramedics not to use blue lights? You could get from a to b faster than a normal drive because everyone helps you along but the extra speed comes with extra risk. No they’ll say get me to the fucking hospital. This is analogous to emergency approval of a new vaccine, the work is still done but everyone stops what they’re doing on other things because this is the priority. Tinfoil had brigade will disagree of course
I distinctly remember the early stories coming out of China of healthy people dying horribly. Patients drowning in their own blood. Then, Italy, stories of the hospitals breaking under the strain. Elderly patients giving up their ventilator for younger people and dying within hours. India, the funeral pyres which never went out, the scramble for oxygen, people pleading with suppliers to fill their empty tanks, families carrying half-dead patients into hospitals and begging for doctors to help them.
Covid was a horrible disease, the pandemic was truly fucking awful. When we heard AZ had a vaccine, we were all over the moon. Clearly there were some problems with it, with fatal side affects for these poor families. If you were somehow transported back to those awful times, would you do anything different though?
I thought these companies had immunity from lawsuits?
No one ever pretended this vaccine was 100% safe. However it was deemed the risk was tiny. And not being vaccinated presented more of a risk. Which is still true
If these people have legit claims, they can claim under VDPS and the NHS will compensate them

I don’t foresee this being a successful legal action.
If my memory serves me Astra Zeneca are pretty bulletproof on this. They’d be more likely of a better outcome suing the government. I’d still wager the government would win but it would be better odds than suing AZ.
40,000 people are injured every year in the US whilst using the toilet.
When will people stand up to big crapper?
My mum had a stroke two days after having the AstraZeneca vaccine. Too much of a coincidence.
What is’t clear of course is how many of those affected by this would have been among the far higher percentage of people who suffered blood clots due directly to catching COVID.
And considering it doesn’t even stop you getting the disease! I’ve had zero jabs and never had covid. It seems that covid is only a problem amongst the vaccinated now.
