My cat is after bringing this bird home. I noticed it has a little blue band on its leg. There’s no serial number on it from what I can see. Do I need to report this to someone? I’m guessing it’s being tracked by some group. Never seen a bird like this before so I’m worried he has gone and killed dome bird that we are attempting to rewild or something

  1. It’s a boarder canary from what I can see. I assume it just got free and your cat got it. It would have been killed soon enough anyhow. They stand out to much and are not suppose to be there so every bird like a crow or magpie will chase it and fuck it up anyhow. Cat killing it was probably mercy. I own like 30 canaries.

  2. This picture is giving me a sore head. Is it resting on something and you’ve taken the photo top down or is it’s beak stuck in the wood

  3. Probably a more merciful death from your cat than by magpies pecking it’s eyes out, just an escaped pet no need to report to anyone

Edit: it’s probably better off having escaped, jesus christ those are some disfigured overgrown claws. Whoever was keeping it had it in a bad way

  4. He just got out of prison. Sure he looks a bit rough but give him a chance, he probably just wants to get his life together.

  5. Look accidents happen I get that. But please please put bells on your cats. They kill huge quantities of local wildlife (here in Ireland and in every country they inhabit). Not saying don’t have cats just bell them so birds etc hear them coming.
