Google says Tripla is “the largest shopping center in the Nordics”. One question that has been intriguing me since Tripla’s opening: how do you (the architects, designers and all concerned) feel about Tripla’s logo? I’m not a designer myself, but three different fonts and sizes, the colors, those dots in each letter – too much? I haven’t found any discussion/news on this one, so curious to hear what you guys genuinely think!

  1. I think because it’s connected to the Pasila station, I don’t really think of it as a seperate mall but more as a city center outside the actual city center or something. I mean it 100% is a mall but at the same time, it doesn’t always feel like one. Kinda like the mall in Kamppi.

As such, I don’t even really think about the logo. It definitely has too much going on now that I look at it. The Redi logo is much more memorable, not to mention something like the old Forum logo that was around for decades.

  2. Generic modern day logo that ages as badly as anything created to be “modern and contemporary”. Tbf at least the idea of using 3 colored balls as part of a text is new one to me, so its not 0/10.

  3. Looks like they just mismatched some random designs and called it a day, sometimes it works, but not this time.

  4. You won’t get objective comments since you set the tone in the title.

Now why did they come up with this? Likely because they tested on a panel of users, and out of all the proposals, this one got the best results.

Does it mean it just does not suit a certain demographics you belong to? Or the others were even worse. To me, I’ve never actually looked at it in any critical way before today.

  5. I’m usually the more is more crowd add glitter on top but this is a bit.. much.

“Mall of” is unnecessary in the first place but it’s even worse it’s in that font. Just keep it simple if it needs to be in the name.
Tripla part is also having a bit too much going on. Yes we get it. You like balls 😀 3 balls on top of each other. But maybe just use them in one letter instead of all. So then you can use those 3 balls as a logo by itself that’s recognizable. Maybe.

  6. just ugly as hell, this is one of the rare ones where simplifying the logo would actually make sense

  7. Not sure about the logo, but good luck finding your way through the mall, horrible signs, some elevators don’t go all the way up or down. Confusing layout.

  8. Not too bad considering the architectural, graphical and name design was outsourced to three year olds at a local daycare center.

  9. For a country that I’d known for natural, clean design this is odd and very unfinnish imho (Finnish-American)
