What, if anything, would you call this dessert in Slovak? What’s the nearest English transliteration?

  1. Roláda. Som prekvapený že to tu nevidím. Z fotky to nevidno, ale ak by to bolo pečené, tak závin 🙂 Roláda je za studena.

  2. My mom and grandmas make this pretty much every weekend with different “fillings”. We call it based on the filling. Makovník (if it’s poppy) jablčník (if it’s apple) lekvárovník (if jam) orechovník (nuts) Officially, I would call it makový závin, jablkový závin…. Rohlík, rožok, rožtek where we live is only if it’s small and in the shape of horse- shoe.
