> Twitter has removed restrictions on Kremlin-linked accounts in the wake of its acquisition by tech billionaire Elon Musk, a review of the website has found.
>
> Tests from multiple accounts showed that Twitter’s search results, timeline and recommendation tools are showing users such as Vladimir Putin’s presidential account, the country’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs, and its UK Embassy – all of which had restrictions placed on them when hostilities broke out.

> It comes after it emerged that Twitter was no longer limiting the reach of Russian state media organisations.
>
> Last April, in the weeks after Russian troops entered Ukraine, Twitter said it would “not amplify or recommend government accounts belonging to states that limit access to free information and are engaged in armed interstate conflict”, saying the policy would instantly apply to Russian government accounts.

It’s so refreshing to see more and more people realising how terrible Elon actually is. For years, people just laughed at me and called me an idiot because „he’s the Tony Stark of our generation“
Billionaires stick together eh. They think they’re the chosen ones.
Musk may have two faces.
Don’t trust his Mars stories. He might drop those as soon as he feels it’s not suitable for his enrichment anymore:
Elon is garbage paid actor and sanctions should include cutting off this guy from the internet etc and his fake propaganda
But Twitter is banned in Russia
And I just deleted my twitter accounts. Been a long time coming I guess given how little I’ve used it over the last 5-10 years.
Not that Putin himself uses it (or internet at all). Boring, but thinks it makes him super epic “omg internet is filled with so much garbage, why use it???”
I will never understand American celebrity stuff. Absolutely wild how fame can affect a country so much. And now again it’s spilling out and hurting people all over the world.
At the same time, Elon Musk is blocking Substack, which he doesn’t like.

It makes Musk complicit in Russia’s efforts.
