King Charles will don a special gold silk coat for Coronation

  1. Why do we even have a monarchy still when we have a government with a prime minister and members of parliament? I’m confused, isn’t the purpose of a monarchy taken away with another form of government?

  2. Unelected head of state who wastes money on golden cloaks, and an unelected second chamber of parliament full of sycophants, that is basically the world’s most expensive old people’s home.

Our country really is in a bad place.

  3. I saw a video of the making of a special sword for someone involved with the ceremony and the guy mentioned that Charles had 67 swords.

  4. I feel like the monarchy are being a bit tone death in this. Times have changed incredibly since old Liz got coronated, I doubt people are going to take too kindly to watch some old dude wearing a golden silk rove while sitting on a golden throne blah blah.

  5. If even I can’t get my head around the thread of history we are about to witness … imagine him!

  6. Personally I’d like to see him (them) wear a crown a bit more. Always thought royalty don’t really look the part these days. Anyone can wear a suit, dress or military uniform (if you’re in the military.)

    No one wears a crown.

  7. For those who don’t want to read: this cloak is not newly made. It has existed for a very long time. He is re-using a garment that already exists, not using taxpayer money for a new gold cloak.

  8. I just love the look of this

Sure i was paid 100 years ago but while people struggle to afford housing, food, energy. etc this sponge on the taxpayer wears a fucking gold suit.
