To be honest, I’m not too bothered by 2 officers having consensual sex with each other, yeah, it’s gross misconduct no doubt, and they were caught for it…
It’s more concerning the number of incidents regarding officers using their powers to stalk/harrass/exploit civilians, vulnerable people that have come to their attention, and the ‘boys club’ attitude that seems to exist where no one opens their mouth to call them out and report them/stop them.
Does anyone honestly believe the ones we hear about aren’t a relatively small percentage of the corruption and acceptance of corruption that exists in a lot of forces?

But for emergency services supposed to be on duty, skiving off for any reason is unacceptable. Glad that they were reported, the police need to police themselves far better.

The police in Basingstoke, Hampshire are way worse than this. I heard from someone that there was a black officer working there and one of the staff put a world map above his space and put a “You are here” with an arrow pointed to Africa. Is it true? Fuck knows. But there is more than enough evidence that they are racist and also sexist. Basingstoke is very, very white. When I was at school around 18 years ago, we had 2 black girls and 2 Asian girls in the entire school. One of the Asian girls died from a heart surgery and then the 2 black girls left. There was literally one Asian girl in our school after that.
Then in secondary school there was less than 10 ethnic people. I didn’t realise how white basingstoke was until I moved to Reading.
So I am not surprised really. I grew up being very racist until I grew up and realised that is fucked, and boy do I regret it. Alot of my dads views rubbed off on me, but now I really don’t care about race. When I was younger I hated all Asian, black people etc and thought they were dirty. But now? I couldn’t give two fucks! I view everyone the same, your colour is irrelevant, how you act is the most important thing.
Between this or having them sit atop a bridge in a mobile speed camera to slow traffic down and annoy people, I’ll take this over that any day.
Really feels like a no-story compared to everything else going on in the world right now.
