  1. Palazzo della Civiltà Italiana. I know it’s tempting to call it rationalist but I’ll consider it more early post-modern, by mixing rationalist and neoclassical elements. Those arches are pure decoration, the antithesis of rationalism.

    The greatest example of Italian rationalism would be la Casa del Facio, by Terragni. And probably top in the entire world.

  2. I always liked this one. A pity that a lot of people are turned off by this kind of architecture because of its unfortunate connection to Italian fascism. I get why they would be, but still sad, because I think it does look quite nice.

  3. Even with all the ugly things this is associated with, I hate how much I love it. There is something handsome and profound in its simplicity

  4. Is this the one that was built so that the numbers of windows vertically and horizontally matched the number of letters in the name Benito Mussolini?
