Spain wants EU-Latin America united ‘forever’

  1. > Latin America is by far the most Euro-compatible region on the planet

    … for Spanish speakers.

One could also argue that north America and autralasia are closer in democratic values.

  2. I don’t know, I’d positively look to this but I don’t see central european countries prioritize the creation of a third pole with south America. Just look at how they just ignore the Mediterranean.

Besides, the US consider south America their backyard so they wouldn’t be pleased.

For latin countries like France, Italy, Portugal and Spain (I don’t include Romania in this case) is something almost natural but I don’t know about the others.

  3. Oddly enough. Watching traditional South and even central Americans, their family culture, decor and all actually reminds me more of my home in central/eastern Europe than US.

    Somehow.

  4. this sounds a bit like france wanting special privileges for north africa. it creates an economic and political advantage for whichever country is the access point to the eu. the uk should have tried to get a deal with the usa.

  5. EU should make deals with other blocs, like mercosur, asean, and african union, and not individual countries to prevent an uneven power-balance from both side. or else, it’ll just be neo-imperialism.

  6. One logical question: Are there a lot of South Americans coming to work and live in Spain like there are a lot of Africans from French speaking countries coming to France? Really wondering
