Civil Justice Rank 12 : Japan
Criminal Justice Rank 8 : Japan
What the fuck criteria is this list using ? Japan has a 99.8% conviction rate, use terrible interrogation methods, sleep deprivation, forced confessions and wildly and reclassifies crimes to maintain low crime statistics.
Why no data for Iceland?
The Nordic league is curious why Germany is number 5 when they got the other 4 spots settled.
man Venezuela is having a rough go of it.
Rule of man remain few countries
well..??
living in france, after spending decades arond the world, I can say that I’m very surprise by the figures concerning France..
If on some points I can imagine what could make the specific rank not so hight, on most of the detailed figures, I do not understand them..
the words choosen for explanations are defenitly vague, not precise and on quite any factors and sub factors, defintion are open to interpretation..
other chocking point : the extrems goes from 0.90 donw to 0.29..
when France is ranked at 0.72 (just 0.03 up to USA ? indeed ??) , that mean that France is a third less rule of laws than the 1st one ? and only 2.2 time better than the worst one ???
To be clear, I do not want to defend france here, i’m just using the context I better know to try to understand this index..
So, my questions are :
– How do they actually obtains those figures, are they scientificaly verified and not subjectives (I mean reflzcting just locals opinions)?
– what is the real purpose of this project, I mean upon which philosoohical and political rules and schemes they build the “graal” of a constitution and laws corpus and governance system which could win the ranked of 1.00 ??
And by the way, who is funding the project ? the “financal” section of the site is strangely dumb..
The image posted here is not the same as on the site. It is missing a lot of countries, like Iceland, Latvia and Lithuania, while if you visit the site they are clearly present.
